Give Joy in June

For many children, June is a wonderful month, as school draws to a close and the summer vacation begins.

For the families in The Homeless Families Foundation shelter, June can be a challenging month. The children have outgrown items they received for the holidays, or they don't have seasonal wear like swimsuits, shorts, and play-clothes for the summer. Soon, families will be sending their children back to school, and they'll need supplies so they can focus on learning. The parents also need clothes and supplies as they enter the work force and make the connections in the Columbus community that will help them move forward.

Help The Homeless Families Foundation make June a month of hope rather than one of challenge with our month-long celebration, Give Joy in June. Many individuals and organizations have helped in the past, and we are most grateful. Our list of items is compiled, and this year, we're making it even easier to help. With your generous donation of gift cards (in any amount), our Personal Shoppers are at the ready to get the items to fill the needs of our families.

Gift cards ensure that the gifts are just the right size and color, with no returns ever needed. Essential items like baby items, summer clothes, back-to-school clothes and school supplies, grooming items, bedding, cleaning and household supplies, shows, and many other items will be purchased by our staff and volunteers.

If you prefer to choose items yourself, we gladly welcome those new or gently used items, as well. There is a list of ongoing needs and suggested donations on this website. Make shopping with your family for our families, and bringing your contributions to the HFF office a meaningful and eye-opening part of summer vacation for your children.

Every supporter of Give Joy in June will receive a letter of appreciation from all of us. Everything you do to help is greatly appreciated by the staff, board, and the families. Our families experience hope through your generosity, and that hope carries them as they work toward their goals of employment, education, and stable, permanent housing. Thank you, and please continue to support these families in a time of need.

Please have the gift cards and items to our office by Monday, June 25. Call Natalie or Karie at (614) 461-9247 to arrange for delivery or drop off of your items and mail gift cards to the attention of Natalie or Karie at:
