The Spring Benefit is a major fundraiser and we are dependent upon corporate and community support. This year we were the guests of Melanie and Michael DeAscentis of Lifestyle Communities in Columbus. Sponsors, donors and guests attended the 2008 New Albany Classic Signature Series Benefit for The Homeless Families Foundation in New Albany. Attendance was more than 170 people on a perfect spring evening. Attendees mingled with staff to the piano music of David Tolley as he moved seamlessly from classical to traditional pieces. Hors d'ouevres and finger foods were served from three areas in the home as the televisions throughout displayed a video depicting the mission of HFF. (This video will soon be posted here.)

Janine S. told her family's story of homelessness and how HFF is providing the guidance and help needed for them to re-establish themselves in the community. Janine's husband stood by her side as she shared the struggles they face as they work to rebuild their lives together. Janine will begin at Capital University in the fall to study business administration with plans to establish a family painting business.  Janine says when she is finished, her husband will take his turn at college. Many stood in line to greet Janine and offer encouragement to her.

The 22nd annual New Albany Classic Signature Series Benefit was a great night . . .  raising money for a great cause: hope for homeless families in Columbus.
